Introduction
Follow the procedures in this section to migrate your database. You can migrate
your database and attachments using either the one- or two-step migration
procedure:
Use the one-step migration if you plan to use new hardware. The one-step

migration exports the data directly to the new database.
Use the two-step migration if you plan to reuse your Symposium Web
!
Center Portal Release 3.0 hardware. The data from the Symposium Web
Center Portal Release 3.0 database is stored in a temporary location while
you upgrade your system. When the new Symposium Web Center Portal
Release 4.0 system is installed and configured, you import the Release 3.0
data.
