Note: If you are installing a later version of Apache than the one mentioned in
the procedure below, refer to the Apache web site for more information before
you install Apache on your computer.

Disable the IIS web server on your computer.
a. From the Start menu, select Start ➝ Administrative Tools ➝ Services.
b. Double-click World Wide Web Publishing.
c. Click Stop.
d. In the Startup type drop-down box, select Disabled. This prevents IIS
e. Click OK.

Download the current MSI Installer (for example, apache_2.0.49-win32-
x86-no_ssl.msi) for Apache 2.0 using a mirror site (for example,
http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi).
Note: You can choose different mirror sites to speed up the download.

Run the MSI installer.
Result: The following window appears:

from starting up on your computer when you restart. Only one service
(IIS or Apache) can run on port 80 at a time.
