Outbound files
When an agent needs to attach a file to an outbound message, the agent can
attach the file from any location to which he or she has access. Once the agent
clicks the Attach icon on the e-mail response window, the file is uploaded to the
outbound directory on the server. You can configure the directory in which the
uploaded attachments are stored by using the E-Mail Configuration window on
the Settings tab in the Administrator.
To create an attachments directory
1
Log on to the Symposium Web Center Portal server with Administrator
privileges.
2
Use Windows Explorer to create the new folder in which you want to store
file attachments (for example, D:\SWCPMail).
3
Continue with the next procedure to configure the attachments directory.
To configure the attachments directory
You must enable sharing on your attachments directory. When you enable
sharing on the attachments directory, ensure that the shared directory is the top
level directory in which you store the inbound and outbound attachments. (For
example, within the SWCPMail directory there are two subdirectories: Inbound
and Outbound. You only enable sharing on the SWCPMail folder, not on the
subdirectories.)
1
Log on to the Symposium Web Center Portal server with local Administrator
privileges.
2
Open Windows Explorer, and then locate the ..\SWCPMail folder (where
SWCPMail is the name of the e-mail attachment folder).
3
Right-click the SWCPMail folder, and then click Properties.
4
Click the Sharing tab.
5
Ensure that Share this folder is selected.
6
Click Permissions.
Result: The list of users allowed to connect to this shared folder appears.
The Everyone group is visible with Full Control.
7
Clear the Everyone Group check box to remove permissions for this group.
