Installing and configuring agent PCs
To install J2SE 1.4.1 JRE
J2SE 1.4.1 JRE for Windows (all languages, including English, supplied on the
Nortel Networks Symposium Web Center Portal Server and Client Software
CD-ROM) is required to run Java applications and applets on Windows. You
must install J2SE 1.4.1 JRE on the Portal Server and the Agent PCs.
Note: When you install a Symposium Web Center Portal Service Update from
the Symposium Web Center Portal Service Update CD-ROM, it installs J2SE
1.4.2_03. Do not install a later version of the J2SE.
ATTENTION

If you are installing J2SE on a computer with Windows XP
installed as the operating system, you must remove the
Hotfix 328310 before you proceed with the installation.
After you successfully install J2SE, you must reapply
Hotfix 328310 on the computer. If you do not remove
Hotfix 328310 before you install J2SE, you will not be able
to run the installation program from the CD. For more
information about Hotfixes, refer to your Windows XP
documentation.
