Portal Server checklist

Steps
Ensure you know the host names of the computers on which you
installed (or plan to install)
the Portal Server (database)

the Portal Administrator
!
the Portal Agent Interface
!
the TAPI server
!
the server in Symposium Call Center Server or the Symposium
!
Express Call Center server
the External Web server
!
Ensure you know the location where you want to create your
database. If you do not have a folder (such as SWCPDB) created in
the location in which you plan to create your database, create one
now (for example F:\SWCPDB).
Ensure that you have DirectX 9.0b (or later) installed on the
computer. For more information, see "To verify your version of
DirectX" on page 143.
Ensure you know the host name, site name, and release number of
your Symposium Call Center Server or your Express Call Center
Server.
Ensure you know the host name of your e-mail server for both
inbound and outbound email, and the LDAP server (optional).
Ensure you have installed and configured Sybase Adaptive Server,
Sybase Client, and Sybase EBFs. For more information, refer to
"Installing Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise and Sybase Client" on
page 41.
Ensure you have installed J2SE (provided on the CD-ROM). For
more information, see"To install J2SE 1.4.1 JRE" on page 85.
