Configuring mailboxes for Symposium Web
Center Portal
Introduction
Symposium Web Center Portal polls the list of mailboxes defined in the inbox
list. The e-mails retrieved from these mailboxes are routed based on what rules
are defined for the To address. Follow the procedure in this section to configure
a mailbox.
Configuring the mailbox using aliases
If you are planning to route e-mails from an inbox to more than one skillset, you
must create aliases for the inboxes to which you want to route these e-mails.
Example
You have an inbox called general@contactcenter.com to which e-mails from
info@company1.com and info@company2.com are forwarded. You want to
route these e-mails to two different skillsets, MM_Company1 and
MM_Company2 based on their To addresses. To do so, you must configure two
new inboxes (in addition to the general mailbox you have already configured and
enabled), info@company1.com and info@company2.com, and clear the
Enabled checkbox. This tells Symposium Web Center Portal that they are aliases
so the Email Manager will not log on to these e-mail stores. Then you must
configure rules using info@company1.com and info@company2.com as the To
addresses for the new rules, and assign the rules to the appropriate skillset.
