Since the recorder is a complex instrument, we highly recommend that
troubleshooting and repair be performed only by a competent individual
(one capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the
surroundings or working conditions that are unsanitary, hazardous, or
dangerous to employees, and has authorization to make prompt corrective
measures to eliminate them).
Before beginning a detailed analysis of a malfunctioning recorder, we
recommend that you remove power from the recorder and perform a brief
visual inspection to determine if the problem is inclusive to the recorder.
Perform the following:
1. Ensure all cable connectors are seated properly.
2. Ensure all connections to the rear terminal panel are secure and wired
correctly (Chapter 2).
3. Use a VOM to ensure that the input voltage is applied to the operating
power terminal strip.
The following table lists some common problems and possible solutions.
