Note A Moving Average will be invalid until the first average period has
elapsed. Furthermore, if the base point becomes invalid for any reason
during an average period, a full average period must elapse before the
Moving Average becomes valid again. ▲
 Gated Timer: The gated timer function allows a timer, measuring in
seconds, to be controlled by a "gate" from a logic point. For example, if
a point is measuring temperature and you want to know the total
amount of time the measured temperature is above or below a certain
level, you can program a conditional type point to be true only when
the temperature is above or below a set level.
A gated timer point can then be programmed to be turned on only
when the conditional point is in the true state. The point only
accumulates seconds when the temperature is above or below a set level.
The timer continues to accumulate time each time it is turned on. The
point can also be reset at programmed time intervals and alarms can be
set to alarm if the timer total goes above a programmed time interval in
seconds. Similarly, a dry contact input point type might be used as the
base point for a gated timer. In this case, the timer would accumulate
the total time that the contact is closed (true).
