 Acting as an FTP client: The recorder also supports remote FTP servers
over the LAN by acting as an FTP client. In this case, you can
configure the instrument to automatically send all recorded data (stored
as day-files on the local recorder media) periodically to the host FTP
server. For added redundancy and data security, you can specify two
FTP servers to automatically receive the data. Depending on
configuration, the recorder will either transfer data to both servers or
will go to the secondary server only if a transfer to the primary server
fails.

a. IP Address: The IP address distinguishes between the various
devices connected to the network when using TCP/IP protocol to
communicate. The address is a 32-bit value normally expressed
with four values (0 to 255) separated by a period (192.168.100.15,
for example). The default setting is 0.0.0.0. The IP address must be
set.
b. Subnet Mask: The subnet mask determines the network address
from the IP address. The address is a 32-bit value normally
expressed with four values (0 to 255) separated by a period
(255.255.255.0, for example). The default setting is 0.0.0.0. Set
this value according to the system or the network to which the
recorder belongs. In some cases this setting may not be needed.
