Instrument & Laboratory Check
Check room humidity (20%–85%)

Check room temperature (15°C–30°C)
l
Perform external inspection
l
Check for leaks
l
Prepare Workspace
Clean work areas
l
Change Gloves
Prepare Assay Reagents
Print Assay Reagents Report, if necessary
l
Reconstitute reagents, if necessary
l
If using previously reconstituted reagents, bring reagents to
l
room temperature and gently invert all reagents
Warm Probe Reagent, if necessary, and invert
l
Change Gloves
Complete Panther System Tasks
1. Load Tips
2. Load MTUs
Check for:
All 5 tiplets present
l
All tube positions are free of debris
l
Barcodes present, properly aligned, and undamaged
l
Distributor foot is undamaged
l
3. Load Universal Fluids
Replace depleted fluids
l
Ensure all fittings are secure
l
4. Empty Waste
Ensure all fittings are secure
l
Change Gloves
5. Perform Maintenance
Complete all required maintenance tasks
l
6. Prime
Ensure resources are available
l

7. Load Assay Reagents
Gently invert reagents, remove caps, ensure no
l
bubbles and/or precipitate is present
Ensure bottles are properly seated
l
Verify all barcodes are visible
l
Load onto the Panther System
l
Ensure wTCR position matches assay reagent lane for
l
corresponding reagents
8. Load Samples
Ensure sample default settings are accurate or test
l
orders are available via LIS
Rack calibrators and/or controls for each assay reagent
l
kit loaded, if necessary
Confirm correct sample collection and volume
l
Place samples into racks
l
Verify all barcodes are visible
l
If required, ensure sample retainers are seated
l
Load racks onto the Panther System
l
Change Gloves
Pipetting & Assay Processing
Sample tube graphic will change from:
l
Green—Sample loaded
l
Yellow—Pipetting in-process
l
Blue—Pipetting complete
l
Feed & Monitor
Return, as needed, to load tips, MTUs, additional sample
l
racks, and Assay Reagents
Change Gloves
Review/Manage Results
Send to LIS, if necessary
l
Print Results Report, if necessary
l
Unload Assay Reagents (optional)
Cap and appropriately store assay reagents.
l
Log Off (optional)
