11.2.2 Service function "Remote Desktop"
For monitoring and remote controlling, the operator surface of the SND40 can be visualized on
another PC.
For directly connecting the unit to a Laptop or a Host PC a cross-over network cable is required.
On practically all the current laptops and PCs, a normal network cable can be used, as these
devices Auto MDI-X are capable and accept the crossing of the wires.

Further prerequisites:
1. On the Host-PC the permanent IPV4 address 192.168.100.222 with the sub net mask
255.255.255.0 must be allocated. This can also be found in the registry of the SND40. If it
should be necessary to set another address in the Host-PC, please contact ROLAND
ELECTRONIC.
2. The file "rhost.exe" must be present on the Host-PC. The program rchost.exe must be
approved in the Windows Firewall. See "Allow rhost.exe in Windows Firewall".
3. On the Host-PC the Windows function Telnet Client must be activated. See "Activate Telnet
Client" for details.

network cable claims computing capacity!
This can result in cancelling of the measurement operation
(error message "Data transfer too slow").
