COOLING WATER SYSTEM
7A INTRODUCTION
The LT--circuit includes the charge air cooler, or if fitted, only the second stage of a two
stage air cooler, the lubricating oil cooler and optionally heat exchangers.
The cooling water pump for the LT--circuit is of the same construction as the cooling
water pump of the HT--circuit. This pump is not of the self--suction type.
From the cooling water pump the cooling water flows to the charge air cooler. In the
LT--circuit 3 butterfly valves are provided, or an orifice, to control the quantity of cooling
water to the charge air cooler. The quantity of cooling water to the charge air cooler
is dependent on the cooling water inlet temperature.
For checking and maintenance, consult section 7D.
After the charge air cooler the cooling water flows to the lubricating oil cooler and then
to the water cooler.

For emergency cooling of the LT--circuit a valve is provided after the cooling water
pump. Immediately after this valve a connection (D) for a stand--by pump is provided.
