GOVERNOR ADJUSTMENT
Before starting work, please consult:

Indicated by a needle outside the governor (min. -- 50% -- max.). For the correct value,
consult the test bed report.
Note :
When tightening the locking nut, hold the compensation needle in position.
The valve is located in the governor base, behind a plug. It includes two slots; a
shallow slot for a screw driver, and a deep slot allowing the valve to be locked in
position. For the correct position consult the test bed report.

Normally the needle valve is
Always adjust the needle valve with a cross-head screwdriver.
Adjusting by full operational temperature.
3. 1. Set the compensating needle to the minimum position. Open the needle
valve fully and then close it slowly until the governor stop hunting.
If the governor keeps hunting then :
3. 2. Move the compensating needle slightly towards the maximum position.
Open the needle valve fully and close it slowly until the governor stops
hunting.
3. 3. If the hunting continues, then repeat the procedure of su--section 2 and
check the needle valve position.
The speed droop is the difference between the engine speed at full load and the engine
speed at zero load.
For Example:
Engine speed at full load 900 rpm
Engine speed at zero load 936 rpm.
The difference is 36 rpm, which amounts to a speed droop of 4%, which is normal.
The speed droop can be adjusted :
On governors type UG--8L (Lever control) internally,
On governors type UG--8 (Dial control) externally.
