DESCRIPTIONS
The alarm and protection units display the alarm and protection signals of the engine.
See section 10D for the diagram, in the standard design, comprising of the following
components:
8. 1. Supply card (1.1):
The supply voltage can be signaled with an illuminated push button -- SUPPLY
ON/LAMP TEST -- with a blue lens; with this push button all signal lamps in the
system can be tested.
In order to silence the audible warning, the system is provided with an illuminated
push button -- KLAXON RESET -- with a yellow lens, which remains as on long
as the audible alarm is given.
In order to cancel the visual alarm, the system is provided with an illuminated
push button -- ALARM RESET -- with an orange lens.
When this push button is operated, while the fault has not yet been removed, the
flashing of the signal--light for the fault disturbance changes into a continuous
signal, however, the illuminated push button will remain flashing until the fault has
been removed.
After the fault has been removed, the flashing signal--light of the illuminated push
button as well as the continuously lit signal--light for the relevant fault will switch
off.
In case the fault has already been removed before the illuminated push button
could be operated, the flashing frequency of the relevant fault--light will only be
half the normal value.
In the case of faults, which cause the engine to be stopped, the shutdown
command is locked by the system. To be able to release this lock, the system is
provided with an illuminated push button -- STOP RESET -- with a red lens, the
signal light of which stays on as long as the stopping command is not removed.
8. 2. Delay card (1.2):
Directly after the engine is started, the lubricating oil pressure will be insufficient
due to the fact that the pump is driven by the engine. To avoid this causing an
alarm and shutdown command, a delay in the system is built in, with which the
signal of the relevant switches (such as pressure and flow) is inhibited, until the
pressure of the lubricating oil has a sufficient value.
When this inhibit is released, and the system is completely on stand--by, this is
signaled by a signal light -- ALARM SYSTEM ON -- with a green lens.
