REMOVAL
Before starting work, please consult:
-- chapter 2, " BACKGROUND INFORMATION" ;
-- chapter 3, "TECHNICAL DATA".
The fuel injector consists of:
1
Nozzle
2
Sleeve nut
3
Wearing plate
4
Nozzle holder
5
Pressure rod
6
Joint washer (steel)
7
Pressure spring
8
Spring holder
9
Locking nut
10
Set screw with spring disc
11
Cap nut
12
Joint washer (copper)
7. Remove the clamp and disconnect the high pressure fuel line from the fuel pump,
and the vent line at the connection next to the fuel pump.
8. Withdraw the nozzle holder assembly by lifting it out perpendicularly, bringing the
high pressure fuel line and the vent line with it.
8. 1. Note:
If the nozzle holder cannot be removed easily because a carbon deposit
causes it to stick, than the use of the 'puller', Tool A, is called for.
In this case, proceed as follows :
Remove the cap nut, spring holder, pressure spring and pressure rod.
8. 2. When removing the spring holder make sure not to slacken the locking nut
fitted on the spring holder, because this will cause derangement of the
injection pressure.
-- Fit the 'puller'.
-- Using a maximum torque of 500Nm (360 lbft), pull the nozzle holder out of
the cylinder head.
