INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
15B o Inspect the running surface of the cylinder liners by means of an endoscope;
18 o Inspect all the valves and the valve seats by means of an endoscope ;
18G o Check the valve clearance and adjust it if necessary.
14A o Check the working of the explosion valves ;
9C o Check the drive and performance of the starting air distributor ;
13B o Inspect the crankshaft space ;
20A o Inspect the governor drive.
23A o Check the foundation bolts and filling pieces underneath the engine and, if appli-
cable, the flexible elements underneath the foundation plate ;
o If applicable check the condition of the epoxy resin filling by means of checking the
measuring points ;
o Check the condition of the flexible elements of the flexible coupling ;
23A o Check the engine alignment ;
23B o Measure the crankshaft deflections and measure the axial play of the crankshaft.
o Check the governor and fuel rack linkage and keep it running easily ;
5C o Renew the fuel filter elements ;
o Check the O--rings of a fuel connecting piece of one fuel pump ;
17--o Replace the wearing plates and nozzles of the nozzle holder, check the fuel
injectors on good working ;
5E o Test the constant pressure valves ;
o Inspect the inside of one high pressure fuel pipe on cavitation ;
5D o Check the injection moment of one fuel pump.
19--o Check the cams, rollers, roller holders and pivots visually.
6B o Check the quality of the lubricating oil ;
6D o Clean the centrifugal by--pass oil filter and renew the insert filter paper ;
20C o Clean the inside of the governor and change the lubricating oil ;
6E o Check the working of the inlet valve seat lubrication visually ;
6F o Check barrier oil H.P.fuel oil pump, if applicable;
6G o Check that the safety valve and overflow valve are in good working order.
7D o Inspect from the cooling water side:
o Water cooler ;
o Lubricating oil cooler ;
o Air cooler ;
Replace, if necessary, the anodes ;
7B o Check the fluid level and the concentrations of the cooling water inhibitors.
