8.3. Replacing print head [XPJ-1641SR] (1/2)

Preparation:
・ Phillips Screwdriver No.2
・ Round nose Plyers
Maintenance Part
・ DG-49580: IA5540 Print Head Assy (MS41)
DO NOT use anything other than above listed Print Head Assy.
Doing so may cause critical damage to the hardware and function.
[1] Discharge ink.
If ink remains in the path when replacing print
head, occasional ink drop may destroy electric
circuit of print head.
[2] Remove CR cover.
[3] Release carriage lock manually.
[4] Move carriage to the middle of platen.
[5] Release head FFC from clips on its path. (x4)

[6] Remove head connector(s).
Turn head connector by 45 degree clockwise. Pull
out vertically
Do not turn counter-clockwise.
It may damage connector and cause ink leak.
[7] Place head connectors in plastic bag.

To prevent environment from contamination.
[8] Remove screw(s).
[9] Remove print head(s).
[4]
[10] Place print head(s) on polyknit wiper in the
stainless steel tray.
[5]
Spread polyknit wiper on stainless steel tray. Pour
cleansing fluid as deep as covering polyknit wiper.
