Assigning the trackball and Z-ring
permanently to the control knobs
With the trackball and Z-ring assigned
to the control knobs, press the MENU
button twice in rapid succession.
The MENU button lights green. Now,
switching to another menu leaves the
trackball and Z-ring available for use
as a positioner.
ORTHG (orthogonal) button: When
this button is lit, the trackball functions
as a positioner only in the one of the x-
and y-directions in which it is moved
more.
X, Y, and Z buttons: Use these buttons
to restrict the action of the trackball
and Z-ring to the x-axis, y-axis, or z-
axis (sample mark size).
CTR (center) button: Return a wipe
pattern to its default position.
VELO (velocity) HOLD button: If you
hold down this button, then move the
trackball or Z-ring, the movement
continues at a constant velocity even
when you release the trackball or Z-
ring as long as the button is down.
ASP SKEW PERS, LOC SIZE, LOC
XYZ, AXIS LOC and ROT buttons
When the MENU button is lit, these
buttons have the following functions.
ASP SKEW PERS: Functions as an M/E-
1 button. It assigns the DME control
panel to M/E-1 wipe operations.
LOC SIZE: Functions as an M/E-2
button. It assigns the DME control
panel to M/E-2 wipe operations.
LOC XYZ: Functions as an M/E-3 button.
It assigns the DME control panel to
M/E-3 wipe operations.
AXIS LOC: Functions as an REV button.
It selects the reverse wipe direction.
When off, the wipe direction is forward
("normal").
ROT: Functions as a POS button. It turns
on the wipe positioner for the main
pattern.
