Carrying out setup relating to protocol for the control panel
REMOTE2, REMOTE3 and GPI output ports (PANEL PORT
ASSIGN menu)
Normally, when controlling a DME-7000/3000 with the DME3 to DME6
buttons in the numeric keypad section, the interface uses the REMOTE2 and
REMOTE3 ports, and the communications protocol is the DME protocol.
By means of a PANEL PORT ASSIGN menu setting, you can select the
PERIPHERAL II protocol for the REMOTE2 and REMOTE3 ports. Also, in
place of the REMOTE2 and REMOTE3 ports as interface, you can set up
combinations of the DME3 to DME6 buttons with the buttons in the key
frame control section (BKDS-7030 key frame control panel unit) to cause
trigger pulse outputs from the control panel GPI output ports.
The following describes how to make these settings in the PANEL PORT
ASSIGN menu.
Using the REMOTE 2 and REMOTE 3 ports requires the optional BKDS-
Option
7001.

In the PERIPH menu, press F9 (PANEL PORT).
The PANEL PORT ASSIGN menu appears.

Function key indications in the PANEL PORT ASSIGN menu
Press F4 (DME) or F5 (PERIPH) for the REMOTE2 port, or F7 (DME)
or F8 (PERIPH) for the REMOTE3 port.
F4/7 (DME): DME protocol
F5/8 (PERIPH): PERIPHERAL II protocol
Press F10 (EXEC).
The control panel is reset and the selected protocol is set.
