5. Pull the connector of the battery holder and remove the battery holder from the battery
module.
6. Change the batteries and place the battery holder back in the battery module.
7. Plug the connector of the battery holder in the correct position in the socket
X10 BATTERY of the battery module. To protect against voltage reversal, the connector
is coded.
8. Close the battery module.
9. Finally, connect the battery module in the WBM on the page "Power supply", see above.
Note the information on handling used batteries in the section Batteries: Replacement,
recycling and disposal (Page 259).

Batteries: Estimating the working life

Working life of the batteries
The power consumption of the RTU depends on many factors, the connected consumers,
changing outdoor temperatures and above all on the frequency of configured events such as
limits of measured values being exceeded. A precise calculation of the power consumption
of the RTU is therefore not possible.
To estimate the power consumption of the RTU, you can list the frequency of the individual
operating modes expected by you or configured and derive a rough value for the daily power
consumption of the RTU from the specific consumptions.
You will find the electrical data in the section Technical data (Page 261).
The procedure in principle, is shown in the two following tables.
Note
Real values can significantly deviate from these.
Note that the numbers shown as an example below can deviate significantly from the real
behavior of the RTU in daily use.
Calculate an adequate reserve.

NOTICE
Do not place the battery holders on a conductive surface.
Never place the battery holders on an electrically conductive surface (e.g. the outer
housing).
The battery contacts can establish a short-circuit connection in the battery via a
conductive surface. This can destroy the battery.
