Configuration (WBM)
4.17 Operating mode
Battery switchover
● Use default setting:
Enable the option if the RTU is to use the preset voltage value of 80% as the signal for
switching over the battery modules.
As default the RTU switches over to the second battery module when the voltage value of
the first module falls below 80% of the nominal voltage of 7.2 volts, this means a
threshold value of ≤ 5.76 V.
When this option is disabled, you can enter a different threshold value manually. In rare
cases, this can be practical, for example when connected sensors put heavy load on the
battery with high current peaks.
Control outputs
● Output voltage (X10 CTRL, X11, X40, X42)
From the drop-down list select the voltage (12 VDC or 24 VDC) at the voltage outputs of
the RTU.
The outputs X40 and X42 are always supplied with the voltage configured here.
With the next three check boxes enable the voltage of outputs X10 and X11.
● Supply X10 CTRL with voltage
If the option is enabled, X10 CTRL has the voltage configured above applied to it.
If an external power supply exists and is available, the output CTRL X10 is always
supplied by the external source.
● Supply X10 CTRL from battery if external voltage fails.
If the option is enabled, X10 CTRL is supplied from the battery modules if the external
power source fails. Note that this can involve a considerable shortening of the lifetime of
the battery.
If the option is disabled, no voltage is applied to X10 CTRL if the external power source
fails.
● Supply X11 CTRL with voltage in update mode
If the option is enabled, X11 CTRL is supplied with the voltage configured above in
update mode. Note that this involves increased power consumption.
If the RTU is not in update mode, the outputs have no voltage applied.
If the option is disabled, X11 CTRL never has a voltage applied.
● X11: Lead time before update cycle (ms)
Here enter a value (ms) for a period during which the output X11 has voltage applied to it
before the RTU changes to update mode. This value serves to damp down any voltage
fluctuations at the inputs of the RTU when turning on X11.
