4.5 Establishing the connection between RTU and configuration PC
● Activated OpenVPN client on the RTU
– Configure the OpenVPN client of the RTU, see section VPN (Page 126).
– Importing certificates into the RTU
The VPN connection is established from the configuration PC via the VPN server to the
RTU.

Preparing the PC interface
Follow the steps below to prepare the interface of the configuration PC for the connection to
the RTU.
1. Open the Control Panel of the PC with the menu command "Start" > "Control Panel".
2. Click on the "Network and Sharing Center" group.
3. At the top left in the Network and Sharing Center , click on the entry "Change adapter
settings".
4. Select the entry for the LAN connection and from the shortcut menu (right mouse button)
select the menu command "Properties" (as administrator).

When using "SINEMA Remote Connect server" Use the configuration alternative
"SINEMA Remote Connect" on the RTU, the RTU then calls up the VPN certificates
directly from the server.
When using a standard OpenVPN server: The certificates created for the clients on
the OpenVPN server must have been exported there and imported in the WBM of the
RTU from the configuration PC via a LAN connection.
