Requirements
The most important requirements for the wake up are:
● Authorization of the phone number
The phone number of the mobile phone that calls or sends a wake-up SMS to the RTU
must be configured, see section User (Page 133).
The authorized numbers are configured in the WBM of the RTU for the individual users in
the group. "Users / groups".
● Readiness of the RTU to receive
To receive a wake-up SMS message promptly, you need to configure the operating
modes of the RTU so that the RTU regularly books into the mobile wireless network to
check whether SMS messages have been sent, see section Operating modes
(Page 138).
Receiving a wake-up call in sleep mode is only possible if the parameter "Turn on mobile
wireless interface regularly and check for receipt of wake-up SMS message? in the
"Sleep mode" parameter group has the setting "Check permanently".
Wake up
When woken the RTU changes to the communication mode and handles all associated
tasks, for example including sending messages.
The RTU establishes a connection to the communications partner.
Texts for wake-up SMS messages
For wake-up SMS messages, you need to use the following text in the message:
TELESERVICE
Texts for wake-up SMS messages with deadline specified
You can also add a specified deadline to a wake-up SMS message. At exactly the time you
send with the SMS message, the RTU establishes a connection to its communications
partner.
This time is shown in the WBM as the second (assigned) value of the display "Next
communication mode (configured / assigned)".
