Trigger and Threshold
● Trigger
The saving of the values of data points configured as an event can be triggered by the
following conditions:
– Change
– Cyclic
– Both
● Threshold
The threshold is the difference between the currently read value and the last saved value
of a data point that is configured as an event. With the trigger option "Change" the current
value is saved when the threshold value is reached.
You can configure the threshold value as a percentage (%) or as an absolute value
(abs.).
If you make an entry in one of the two boxes (% or Abs.) the other box is shown with an
underlying color. This serves as a request to check the entered or changed value. When
you save, the underlying color is removed.
– Threshold (%)
– Threshold (abs.)
With digital inputs and analog memory bits configured as counters, no threshold can be
configured.
With the usage meters (DI), the threshold can only be specified as an absolute value
because the range of values is unknown..
188
A change of the process value triggers saving.
With digital data points, each change is handled as an event.
With analog data points the change is triggered by a threshold value trigger
("Threshold").
If the amount of the value change of an analog signal does not exceed the threshold,
the value is not saved.
The process value is saved in every update cycle of the RTU.
Note the individual update cycle of each tag from the configuration of "Basic cycle"
and "Reduction factor".
The process value is saved when one (or both) of the conditions named above is met.
Threshold value as a percentage of the measuring range
Example:
Analog input (AI) 4-20 mA
Scaling; 4 mA = 200 m, 20 mA = 1000 m (measuring range = 800 m)
2% of the measuring range = 16 m
Threshold value as an absolute value
