Replacing the RTU

Replacing the RTU
Read the safety notices
Before changing the RTU, read the safety notices in the section Important notes on using
the device (Page 51).
While working on the device make sure that the power supply is turned off.
When replacing the RTU follow the steps described in the section Connecting up,
installation, commissioning (Page 51).
When replacing the RTU, remember to take the SIM card from the old device and insert it in
the new one.
Transferring the configuration data to the new RTU
The procedure for transferring the configuration data to the RTU depends on whether you
use an SD card in the RTU:
● Device replacement without SD card
If you do not use an SD card, transfer the configuration data from the configuration PC to
the new RTU before replacing the device.
When you create the configuration data using the WBM of the RTU, you have the option
of saving the configuration data on the configuration PC.
● Device replacement with SD card
If you have used an SD card in the old RTU, after turning off the power supply remove
the card from the old RTU and insert it in the new RTU before connecting up and
installing it.
When it restarts, the RTU reads the configuration data from the SD card.
