E-mail
In this tab you make these settings for sending e-mails. You will find the various types of e-
mail in the section Communications services (Page 23).
The following data must be configured:
● Active
If the option is activated, the RTU can send e-mails.
● NTP server name
Name of the SMTP server. You will receive the data from your service provider.
● Port number
Port number of the SMTP server. You will receive the data from your service provider.
● Interface
Interface for transferring e-mails
● Connection security
Here, select from the following options:
– Only STARTTLS
– STARTTLS, if possible
● Own e-mail address
E-mail address of the RTU. You will receive the data from your service provider.
● User name
User name required by the SMTP server. You will receive the data from your service
provider.
● Password
Password name required by the SMTP server. You will receive the data from your service
provider.

With this setting, e-mails are only sent when STARTTLS is supported by the service
provider.
STARTTLS uses ports no. 25 and 587.
To use STARTTLS a certificate is required.
With this setting, e-mails are also sent when STARTTLS is not supported by the
service provider. In this case the transfer can also be unencrypted.
If the service provider supports STARTTLS and TLS is negotiated, the certificate of
the service provider is trusted and encrypted.
