Diagnostics SMS message
Apart from the configurable sending of the diagnostics buffer, the RTU can send
standardized diagnostics SMS messages on request. A diagnostics SMS message is sent to
a telephone with an unauthorized phone number if it receives an SMS message with the
following text from this phone:
DIAG?
The diagnostics SMS message contains the following data:
● Station name
● Firmware version of the RTU
● Status of the mobile wireless network connection (connected / not connected)
● Mobile wireless standard
● Duration of the last mobile wireless connection
The data is specified in the following format: "Attached for ddd:hh:mm:ss"
If the last attempted dial-in to the mobile wireless network was not successful, "Attached
for -" is sent.
● IP address of the RTU
● IP addresses of the DNS server
● Signal strength of the mobile wireless network and the RSSI (received field strength at
the station)
Indication of the signal strength:
– good: Good signal quality (≥ -79 dBm)
– medium: Medium signal quality (-95 .. -81 dBm)
– weak: Bad signal quality (≤ -97 dBm)
Indication of the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication): [0 ... 31]; 99 = signal cannot
be measured.
If the data to be sent exceeds the default size of an SMS message, several SMS messages
are sent.
