SMS
In this tab you can allow or block receipt of SMS messages by the RTU.
● Allow receipt of SMS messages
If the option is enabled, the RTU can receive SMS messages.
To allow further evaluation the received messages must correspond to the codings GSM
3.38 or UCS.
The following SMS messages are accepted:
– Wake-up SMS to change the RTU from the sleep mode to the communication mode
– SMS message as trigger for the sending of a diagnostics SMS message
If the option is disabled, the RTU does not fetch any SMS messages from the SMSC.
● Acknowledgment of wake-up SMS messages
If you enable the option, receipt of an SMS message is acknowledged by the RTU.
● Additional communication cycle at a number of buffered SMS messages
The RTU stores up to 12 SMS messages that should not or cannot be sent immediately.
When this number is reached and further messages are generated, the messages
generated last are lost.
Here, you can enter the number of stored SMS messages as of which the RTU runs
through an additional communication cycle. This ensures that both all stored messages
are sent and all messages from communications partners are received.
Range of values: 0 ... 12
If "0" is entered, the memory for data SMS messages is limited to 11 and there is no
change to the communication mode. If there are already 11 data SMS mesages stored
and further data SMS messages are generated, the messages generated last are
discarded. This allows the sending of at least one SMS message which has the attribute
"Change immediately to communication mode".
SMs messages that bring about an immediate change to the communication mode can
be configured on the following pages:
– System > SD card
– Diagnostics > Notifications
– Operating mode > Power supply
– Program > Block "Send SMS" > parameter "Send immediately"
