About i.LINK
The DV jack on this unit is an i.LINK-compliant
DV input/output jack. This section describes the
i.LINK standard and its features.
What is "i.LINK"?
i.LINK is a digital serial interface for handling
digital video, digital audio and other data in two
directions between equipment having the i.LINK
jack, and for controlling other equipment.
i.LINK-compatible equipment can be connected
by a single i.LINK cable. Possible applications are
operations and data transactions with various
digital AV equipment.
When two or more i.LINK-compatible equipment
are connected to this unit in a daisy chain,
operations and data transactions are possible
with not only the equipment that this unit is
connected to but also with other devices via the
directly connected equipment.
Note, however, that the method of operation
sometimes varies according to the characteristics
and specifications of the equipment to be
connected, and that operations and data
transactions are sometimes not possible on some
connected equipment.
Note
Normally, only one piece of equipment can be
connected to this unit by the i.LINK cable (DV
connecting cable). When connecting this unit to
i.LINK-compatible equipment having two or
more i.LINK jacks (DV jacks), refer to the
instruction manual of the equipment to be
connected.
About the Name "i.LINK"
i.LINK is a more familiar term for IEEE 1394 data
transport bus proposed by SONY, and is a
trademark approved by many corporations.
IEEE 1394 is an international standard
standardised by the Institute of Electrical and
Electronic Engineers.

De DV aansluiting op deze camcorder is een
i.LINK-conforme DV-in/uitgangsaansluiting. In
dit gedeelte wordt de i.LINK norm met de
bijbehorende functies beschreven.
Wat is "i.LINK"?
i.LINK is de naam voor een digitaal serieel
interface voor de overdracht van digitale video,
digitale audio en andere gegevens in twee
richtingen tussen apparaten die beide beschikken
over een i.LINK aansluitbus; tevens is deze
aansluiting geschikt voor de bediening van
andere apparatuur.
Voor de i.LINK aansluiting tussen twee geschikte
apparaten volstaat een enkele i.LINK kabel.
Hiermee is de gegevensoverdracht en bediening
mogelijk van allerlei digitale audio/video-
apparatuur.
Als er twee of meer i.LINK apparaten indirect
zijn doorverbonden met dit apparaat, kunnen
naast de gegevensoverdracht tevens de andere
doorverbonden apparaten worden bediend.
Overigens kan de werking wel eens verschillen,
afhankelijk van de eigenschappen van de
verbonden apparatuur, zodat niet altijd tussen
alle apparaten gegevensoverdracht mogelijk is.
Opmerking
Normaal kan er op dit apparaat via de i.LINK
kabel (DV-aansluitsnoer) slechts één apparaat
worden aangesloten. Voor het verbinden van
i.LINK apparaten met twee of meer i.LINK
aansluitingen (DV stekkerbussen) dient u de
gebruiksaanwijzing van de betreffende
apparaten te raadplegen.
Betreffende de naam "i.LINK"
i.LINK is een door SONY voorgestelde naam
voor de technisch als IEEE 1394 bekende
aansluiting, als zodanig erkend als handelsmerk
door diverse internationale ondernemingen en
instanties.
IEEE 1394 is een internationale norm, vastgesteld
door het Institute of Electrical and Electronic
Engineers.
