Examples of signal flow
The following examples show how the outputs of the M/E banks can be fed
to each other, in the two principal system types.
For convenience it is assumed here that the signals are fed in the fixed order
from M/E-1 to M/E-2 to M/E-3, but in fact any of these banks can feed any
of the others. In a 3.5-M/E system, however, it is not possible to feed the
output of the PGM/PST bank to one of the M/E banks.

The following diagram shows an example of the signal flow in a 3.5-M/E
system.
