Moving a Master to a Different Unit in the Stack

This example is provided as CLI commands and a Web interface procedure.

CLI: Moving a Master to a Different Unit in the Stack

1.
Using the movemanagement command, move the master to the desired unit number. The operation
may take between 30 seconds and 3 minutes depending on the stack size and configuration. The
command is movemanagement <fromunit-id> <tounit-id>

Make sure that you can log in on the console attached to the new master. Use the show switch command
to verify that all units rejoined the stack.

It is recommended that the stack be reset with the reload command after moving the master.

Web Interface: Moving a Master to a Different Unit in the Stack

To use the Web interface to move a master to a another unit, proceed as follows:
1.
Move a master from unit 1 to unit 2.

From the main menu, select System > Management > Basic > Stack Configuration. A screen
similar to the following displays.

b. Select the 2 from the Management Unit Selected pull-down menu.

A warning window is popped up, click the OK button
