From the main menu, select Routing > Advanced >IP Interface Configuration. A screen similar to
the following displays.

b. Under IP Interface Configuration, scroll down to interface 1/0/5 and select the checkbox for that
interface. 1/0/5 now appears in the Interface field at the top.

Under the IP Interface Configuration, enter the following information.
•
In the IP Address field, enter 192.150.5.1.
•
In the Subnet Mask, enter 255.255.255.0.
•
Select Enable from Routing Mode pull-down menu.
d. Click Apply to save the settings.
Adding a Default Route
When IP routing takes place on a switch, a route table is needed for the switch to forward the packet based
on the destination IP address. The route entry in the route table can either be created dynamically via routing
protocols like RIP and OSPF, or can be manually created by the network administrator. The routes created
manually is called either static or default route.
A default route is used for forwarding the packet when the switch can not find a match in the routing table
for a IP packet. Here is the example how to create default route.
