You can access the monitoring service log through a web browser. To
access the monitoring service log, type the following in the Address or
Location field of your browser:
https://ip-addr
The ip-addr is the IP address of the machine on which the service is
installed. The default TCP port number is 443. To access the service from
the same machine on which it is installed, use IP address 127.0.0.1 (the
loopback address).
The monitoring service regularly backs up the database, based on the
backup settings specified on the Service Settings tab. In addition to these
regular backups, you can create a backup at any time.
To create a backup:
1 Stop the monitoring service. (See "Starting or Stopping the Monitoring
Service" on page 537.)
2 Access a command-line interface on the machine where the monitoring
service is installed.
3 Type the following command:
dbtools -backup
A backup file is created and placed in the \services-db\backup
subdirectory where you installed 3WXM client and the monitoring
service. The backup is given a unique name and zipped.
You can restore the database from a backup file saved in the
\services-db\backup subdirectory where you installed 3WXM client and
the monitoring service.
