The IEEE 802.1X standard provides an authentication framework that
supports a variety of methods for authenticating and authorizing network
access for wired or wireless users. You can configure 802.1X
authentication parameters for an individual WX or for a domain policy.
CAUTION: 802.1X parameter settings are global for all SSIDs configured
on the WX switch.
To configure 802.X authentication:
1 In the Mobility Domains panel in the main 3WXM window, navigate to
the domain policy or WX you want to configure.
2 Expand the domain policy or WX switch to see the configuration options.
3 Select 802.1X.
4 Select Edit > Properties. The Modify 802.1X dialog box appears.
5 To enable system authentication control for the WX, select Enabled.
6 To disable authentication control, clear Enabled. By default, system
authentication control is enabled.
7 To specify the number of seconds the WX switch waits before attempting
reauthentication, specify the timeout value (0 to 65,535 seconds) in the
Quiet Period Timeout box. The default is 60 seconds.
