Disabling or
Reenabling Active
RF Scanning
By default, MAP radios actively scan for rogue devices by sending probe
any requests (probe requests with a null SSID name), to solicit probe
responses from other access points. Radios also passively scan by listening
for beacons and probe responses.
Passive scanning is always enabled and cannot be disabled. You can
disable active scanning if required.
1 Access the Modify Switch wizard for the WX switch. (See "Accessing the
Modify Switch Wizard" on page 185.)
2 Select Wireless at the top of the wizard, if not already selected.
3 Select RF Active Scan from the organizer list on the left side of the page.
4 To disable active scanning for rogues, click on the checkbox to deselect
the feature.
5 To save changes and close the wizard, click Finish.
