14.10.5.3
Droop
Overview
In the case of mechanically coupled drives, there is the risk that the drives operate "against each
other": Small deviations in the speed setpoint or actual value of the coupled drives can cause the
drives to be operated with significantly different torques. The droop connection provides a
remedy.
Requirement
You selected the "Speed control" control mode.
When droop is active, you have set the ramp-function generators of all the coupled drives
with identical ramp-up and ramp-down times and roundings.
Description of function
The droop connection ensures even torque distribution between several mechanically coupled
drives.
The droop reduces the speed setpoint as a function of the torque setpoint.
