• Large Disk Access Mode:
This item allows you to select Logical Block Addressing (LBA) as the method used
to access the hard disk. Most operating systems instruct the computer to address
the sectors of a large disk using LBA. A large disk is defined as one that has a
capacity of more than 512 Mbytes. LBA involves serializing the sectors on a drive,
so that each one has an integer number, ranging from 0 until the total number of
sectors on the drive.
By selecting DOS, the operating system will address the large disk, in the way that
DOS would, that is, through LBA. By selecting Other, the operating system will
address the large disk using other methods.
Options:
- DOS (default)
