128 Appendix B: BIOS reference
• Floppy check:
This item allows you to enable or disable a floppy disk drive search, performed by
the BIOS.
By selecting Enabled, the BIOS searches for and verifies the type of floppy disk
drive connected to Matrox 4Sight-II. By selecting Disabled, the BIOS skips this
task, resulting in a faster boot-time.
Options:
- Enabled
- Disabled (default)
Note that if QuickBoot mode is enabled, the floppy check is only performed
if an error occurred during the previous boot.
If the Legacy Diskette A configuration is set to Disabled, the floppy check is
not performed, regardless of the menu item's settings.
• AC/Power Loss:
This item allows you to choose the state of the Matrox 4Sight-II unit when AC
Power is restored after the unit looses power (for example, if the power cord is
pulled out, or there is a power outage).
Options:
- Stay Off (default)
- Power on

Changing a device's boot sequence position

The BIOS can boot the operating system from any available boot-device (such as
a hard drive or CD drive). When Matrox 4Sight-II is turned on, the BIOS checks
each device in sequence until it finds an operating system to boot or there are no
devices left to check.
