5. Select FreeDOS Interpreter by highlighting it and pressing Enter. To move the
highlighting bar over this option, use the Up and Down keys.
Note that the contents of the above screen shot vary with the operating system
running on your Matrox 4Sight-II unit.
6. When FreeDOS boots, it will prompt you to change the date and time. Simply
press Enter, since these values are controlled by the BIOS, and not FreeDOS.
Once this has been done, you will be presented with a command prompt.
7. Change to the X:\BIOS directory by typing: X: followed by CD \bios. Replace X
with the partition on which the \BIOS directory is located.
For example, if the \BIOS directory is found on the C:\ partition, type C: followed
by CD \bios at the prompt.
8. Type phlash, followed by the filename of the BIOS image
For example, if the filename of the BIOS image on your hard disk is ft105021.rom,
then type phlash ft105021.rom.
Phoenix Phlash will update or replace the current BIOS on your unit with the
more recent BIOS image found in the \BIOS directory. It will also clear CMOS
memory.
9. Once the update is complete, a PhoenixPhlash Status window will appear and
prompt you to press any key to restart your unit. Do not restart the unit. Turn it
off using the power button instead.
1. Recall that the BIOS image can be found in the \BIOS directory, and has a filename
similar to ftabbccc.rom.
