190 Appendix D: Connecting a floppy disk drive to the parallel port connector
2. Connect the ribbon cable's floppy disk connector to the floppy drive.
3. Connect one of the following:
- The ribbon cable's DB-25 connector to the parallel port connector of Matrox
4Sight-II.
- The ribbon cable's 26-pin, IDC connector to the internal connector of the
parallel interface, on the Matrox 4Sight-II motherboard.
4. Turn on your unit and access the BIOS Setup program.
5. Set the Floppy controller on LPT port menu item's option to Enabled.
6. Set the Legacy Diskette A: menu item's option to match the type of floppy drive
connected to your unit.
7. Press F10 to save the current BIOS settings and exit the BIOS Setup program.
The parallel port will now be configured to interface with a floppy disk drive. Note
that you will not be able to use the parallel port for printing purposes, unless you
disable the Floppy controller on LPT port setting.
