20 Chapter 1: Before you begin
Matrox Meteor-II
frame grabbers.
• /RGB. The Matrox Orion /RGB for 4Sight-II captures component RGB video,
in addition to the video signals captured by the Matrox Orion /Standard for
4Sight-II.
• /Dual. The Matrox Orion /Dual for 4Sight-II features two decoders and a
2 Mbyte buffer, thereby supporting digitization of two asynchronous video
streams simultaneously. The /Dual can capture the same signals as the /Standard,
but supports twice as many input channels. The video streams can be digitized by
either decoder.
The Matrox Meteor-II frame grabbers capture images and send data to the Host
along the PCI bus. They integrate 4 Mbytes of SGRAM to store the data until
the bus becomes available.
The Matrox Meteor-II frame grabbers are available in four versions in the
PC/104-Plus form factor:
• /Standard. This version captures composite (CVBS) and component (Y/C) video,
in NTSC or PAL format, with square-pixel resolutions.
• /Multi-Channel. This version captures component RGB video, with square-pixel
resolutions.
• /Digital. This version captures digital video with square-pixel resolutions from
digital cameras. Your unit will include a special front panel that will accommodate
both the digital video input ("Digital Video in") connector of the Matrox
Meteor-II /Digital frame grabber, and either the auxiliary I/O ("Aux. I/O")
connector or opto-coupling module.
