4. Tighten nuts (C) to 54–59 ft·lbf (73–80 N·m) when
proper belt tension is achieved.
5. Remove pry bar (A) and wood (B).
NOTE:
Readjust tension of a new belt after a short run-in
period (about five hours).
6. Check that clearance (A) between belt (B) and
guide (C) is 1/32–1/16 in. (0.5–1.5 mm).
7. If necessary, loosen bolts (D) and adjust guide as
required. Tighten bolts.
8. Repeat procedure for opposite side of header.
9. Close endshields.
Adjusting Double-Knife Timing
Timed double-knife D65 Draper Headers, 35-foot and smaller, require that knives are properly timed to move in
opposite directions.
1. Open both endshields. Refer to
2. Remove the belt on the right-hand side. Refer to
3. Rotate the left knife drive box driven pulley clockwise
until the left knife (A) is at the center of the inboard
stroke (B) (moving towards center of header).
NOTE:
Center stroke is when the knife sections (C) are
centered between guard points.
