Fit the 5-mm ceramic spacers and contacts, in the correct order, over the
insulator tube.
The terminal contacts on the right-hand side contact rail
Caution:
assembly must be aligned at approximately 60 degrees to avoid fouling
the inner source contact support assembly. The terminal contacts on
the left-hand side contact rail assembly must be aligned slightly away
from vertical, facing outwards.

Fit the washer.
4.
Fit and tighten the securing nut.
5.
Fit and tighten the locknut.
6.
Fit and finger-tighten the adjusting nut.
7.
On the left-hand side contact rail assembly, fit the lead link between
contacts H; this must be aligned to clear the ion block and the trap
contact.

Assembling the outer source assembly

To fit the contact rail assemblies and metal pillars:
1.
Fit the left-hand side contact rail assembly to the source locating plate.
2.
Fit the right-hand side contact rail assembly to the source locating plate.
3.
Ensure that the contact rail assemblies are correctly orientated, then fit
and tighten the 2 screws that secure the contact rail assemblies to the
source locating plate.
4.
Fit and tighten the metal pillars to the source locating plate.
The holes in the pillars are for use with a leverage bar to facilitate

tightening; their orientation is immaterial.
To assemble the lens stack:
1.
Fit the focus plate.
2.
Fit and tighten the 2 screws that secure the metal pillars to the source
locating plate.
3.
Fit the 4 ceramic rods to the source locating plate.
