You can load the sample cup with the sample before or after inserting the cup
into the probe.
Clean used sample cups in a hot flame and/or in solvent before reuse.
To load sample into a sample cup
The sample can comprise toxic materials. Wear nitrile gloves

To avoid contaminating the sample, after flame-cleaning,

keep the sample cup free of grease (for example, from laboratory
surfaces) and handle with tweezers.

Load solid samples into the cup using a thin piece of wire, or a
drawn-out length of glass rod. Use a microsyringe to load samples in
solution.

Ensure that the sample is deposited at the bottom of the cup and not
around the neck, taking care not to leave any air pockets.
To avoid solvent vapor blowing the sample out of the cup, be
