Procedure to resurface the Sliding Distributor Panels continued
4. Inspect the surface of the sliding panel. Observe the surface of the sliding panel located between both linear
grooves of pressure. This is the zone with the most wear. The sandpaper should be placed on a completely flat
surface. Gently rub the sliding panel against the sandpaper until it is flat and has a clean flat surface free of
scratches. If the face of the sliding panel is resurfaced without any scratches, and the linear grooves of pressure
have disappeared, this indicates that the wear on the sliding panel was excessive and the sliding panel must be
replaced. Both linear grooves of pressure are very important and must be cleaned of any debris. Repeat this
operation on each of the distributor sliding panels.

5. If the surface of the distribution plate (Element #2) where the sliding panels move back and forth show signs of
wear, that surface must be polished and cleaned. Use an industrial scrub on the flat surface and rub the entire
face of the distribution plate. Performing this task eliminates the majority of the scratched and worn area. If a
scratched or worn area is still present, repeat this operation using very fine grit sandpaper in place of the scrub
until there is a smooth surface with no scratches or worn area. If the scratches were very deep, a new
distribution plate will need to be mounted. Clean the distribution plate before mounting it in the ETD.

6. Mount the repaired components. Make sure all the o-rings of the distribution plate are in their housings. Mount
the Sliding Distributor Panels of the housings, simply push the sliding panels until they touch the shaft of the
distributor and disassemble. Before mounting the sliding panels, inspect the condition of the springs (Item
#32), if the springs are broken or worn, mount four new springs. Tighten the allen screws (Item #30) and
reconnect the blue polyamide tubes with the elbows (Item #26) of the distribution body joint. Mount the ETD
in the system and verify that it works correctly.
