Sea Recovery Ultra Whisper Rev. A
PRODUCTION, OPERATING PRESSURE, AND OPERATING POWER CONSUMPTION:
The Fresh Water Production (Product Water) of the Sea Recovery Ultra Whisper is a constant percentage of
the Feed Water Flow, regardless of feed water temperature, salinity, or the condition of the membrane.
The Ultra Whisper System does not require manual pressure adjustment. The System automatically adjusts
operating pressure to produce a specific and pre set Product Water flow.
The table below illustrates the amount of Feed Water and the recovered amount of Product Water for each
System:

UW 400

The above values will vary with the actual cycles (Hz) that is supplied to the System or in the case of Direct
Current (12 VDC or 24 VDC) powered Systems the values will vary with the actual voltage that is supplied to
the System. This is to say, the lower the Hz from the 50 or 60 Hz norm the less the amount of Feed Water and
resulting decrease in Product Water. Inversely, the higher the Hz from the 50 or 60 Hz norm the greater the
amount of Feed Water and resulting increase in Product Water. As for Direct Current powered Systems, the
lower the voltage from the 12 or 24 VDC norm the less the amount of Feed Water and resulting decrease in
Product Water. Inversely, the higher the voltage from the 12 or 24 VDC norm the greater the amount of Feed
Water and resulting increase in Product Water.
PRESSURE CHANGES:
The System Operating Pressure (the pressure applied to the R.O. Membrane Element) varies with the Feed
Water Temperature, the Feed Water Salinity, and the condition of the R.O. Membrane Element. The System
Design Specifications are based on Feed Water Temperature of 77° F / 25° C, and a Feed Water Salinity of
35,000 PPM-TDS (parts per million-total dissolved solids). Each R.O. Membrane Element can vary +/- 15%
which will cause the final Operating Pressure to decrease or increase accordingly. However, assuming the
"perfect R.O. Membrane", at this temperature and salinity the system will operate at the standard system
pressure listed within the Specifications in Section 0.
If the Feed Water Salinity increases or if the Feed Water Temperature decreases the System Operating
Pressure will increase. Inversely, if the Feed Water Salinity decreases or if the Feed Water Temperature
increases the System Operating Pressure will decrease. Further more, if the R.O. Membrane Element is new or
old and fouled the System Operating Pressure Automatically decreases or increases accordingly to over come
the R.O. Membrane Element condition.
