d. POSSIBLE CAUSE: AIR SUCTION LEAK AT OR PRIOR TO THE FEED PUMP [6] INLET, ANYWHERE
BETWEEN THE INLET THRU HULL FITTING [1] AND THE INLET OF THE FEED PUMP [6].
1) Press Reset Fault Switch to reset and turn off the "High/Low Pressure" Fault Lamp.
2). Start the System
IF The Feed Pump Inlet Compound Vacuum/Pressure Gauge [5] registers 0 (zero) PSI and the other 3 pressure
gauges [12, 16, & 18} register far below normal this may indicate that air is entering the Suction portion of
the Feed Line. Air can only enter the feed line in the Suction portion of the line which is at or prior to the
Inlet of the Feed Pump [6]. Air may also be entering the feed line from the bottom of the boat through the
Inlet Thru-Hull scoop while the boat is under way.
This could also indicate that the feed water pump requires servicing. If the internal components of the feed
water pump have been cavitated or worn from abrasive particles in the feed water the pump will lose its
ability to maintain pressure and flow. Refer to Feed Water Pump troubleshooting later in this section.
The feed water pump [6] is capable of and will pull a vacuum to purge the air and prime itself if the outlet of
the feed pump [6] is not "blocked". However, the ETD [17] does cause resistance which acts as a "blockage"
at the outlet of the feed pump. With air inside the feed pump it can not purge itself easily due to the
restriction at its outlet which is caused by the ETD. This situation will correct itself over several minutes as
the feed pump slowly purges the air.
To purge any trapped air loosen the black tube fitting nut at pressure gauge 5 and 12. After the air is purged
finger tighten the black tube fitting nut.
