d. POSSIBLE CAUSES: LOW TEMPERATURE FEED WATER; HIGH SALINITY FEED WATER; FOULED
R.O. MEMBRANE ELEMENT; BLOCKAGE IN THE PRODUCT WATER LINE
IF The Feed Pump Inlet Compound Vacuum/Pressure Gauge [5] registers Normal with slight vacuum or 0 (zero)
PSI, and the remaining 3 pressure gauges, Prefilter Inlet Pressure Gauge [12], Prefilter Outlet Pressure Gauge
[16], and Operating Pressure Gauge [18] all register higher than normal this would indicate that the ETD is
attempting to overcome a "restriction" of Product Water Flow caused by one or more of the reasons stated
above (Low Temperature Feed Water, High Salinity Feed Water, Fouled R.O. Membrane Element, Blockage
in the Product Water Line). This will cause higher than normal operating pressure, low Feed Water flow,
and in turn low Product Water flow. As the System self adjusts to overcome the "restriction", the High
Pressure Switch [11] will eventually signal the System to shut down due to excess pressure at the Prefilter
Inlet Pressure Gauge [12].

a. POSSIBLE CAUSE: LOW TEMPERATURE FEED WATER.
1) Low Temperature Feed Water will lower the R.O. Membrane Element production of Product Water.
The Ultra Whisper System will automatically compensate for the low production due to low
temperature feed water by increasing the operating pressure. The System may be operating and
reacting normal in relationship to the Feed Water Salinity and Temperature. Refer to the Salinity,
Temperature and Operating Pressure Charts in Section 10 of this manual to ensure that the System is
being operated within the Feed Water Temperature limits stated, and or that the resulting operating
pressure is at the expected pressure according to the charts.
b. POSSIBLE CAUSE: HIGH SALINITY FEED WATER.
1) High Salinity Feed Water will lower the R.O. Membrane Element production of Product Water. The
Ultra Whisper System will automatically compensate for the low production due to high salinity feed
water by increasing the operating pressure. The System may be operating and reacting normal in
relationship to the Feed Water Salinity and Temperature. Refer to the Salinity, Temperature and
Operating Pressure Charts in Section 10 of this manual to ensure that the System is being operated
within the Feed Water Salinity limits stated, and or that the resulting operating pressure is at the
expected pressure according to the charts.
c. POSSIBLE CAUSE: FOULED R.O. MEMBRANE ELEMENT
1) As the R.O. Membrane Element becomes fouled due to normal use and exposure to the Feed Water
greater pressure will be required to produce the normal quantity of Product Water. Refer to the
Charts in Section 10 of this manual. Project the expected operating pressure with the given Feed
Water Temperature and Salinity to determine if the System is operating within expected limits. If the
