To type a nonprintable ASCII character
• Use this syntax:
\xhh
where hh is the two-digit hexadecimal number for the control character
or the extended ASCII character.
For example, to enter ETX as a preamble, type:
\x03
Or, to enter Ü (the 5250 TE Field Exit code), type:
\x9A
To type an escape character (backslash)
• Type two backslashes. The application ignores the first backslash (\)
character and saves the next characters.

To type quotation marks
• Enclose the data within quotation marks and precede each quotation
mark with another quotation mark so that the quotation marks are not
treated as the end of the data.
For example, to set a postamble that includes quotation marks, enter the
postamble by scanning this full ASCII bar code label:

To enter hex pairs
• You need to enter:
0xnn
before you enter multiple values for data where nn is the hexadecimal
values of the nonprintable characters.
For example, to use a carriage return (0x0C) as a value in a WEP key
string, send this command:
$+LM0X41420D4142
The following value is returned:
AB<cr>AB
