Description
Encoder
If an encoder is connected to the sensor, the measured value recording can be triggered by the
encoder steps.
INFO
If the encoder inputs are not connected and not connected to GND, the sensitive encoder input
may interpret and count ambient noise as steps. This does not affect the performance of the
sensor.
2-channel op-
With 2-channel operation, it is possible to detect the running direction of the belt. In this mode,
eration (with
each rising and falling edge of the signals corresponds to a pulse for the timing control of the
CH-A and
device. The signals must occur alternately for channels CH-A and CH-B. Some encoders supply
CH-B)
a reference pulse for the detection of a full revolution. The sensor cannot process this reference
pulse.
NOTICE
For safe operation, the maximum frequency of the encoder signal specified on the data sheet
must not be exceeded. The sensor can process a minimum step width of 3.
